CAL IT Group is a growing full-service Managed Services Provider (MSP) seeking an Entry-Level Cybersecurity Associate to join our team. This role is designed for individuals early in their IT or cybersecurity career who are eager to learn and grow in a hands-on, real-world environment.
The Cybersecurity Associate will work closely with our Cybersecurity Analyst and Director of Technical Services to help maintain and improve the security of customer environments. In addition, this role will assist the Helpdesk with technical support requests as needed to ensure a high level of service for our clients.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical cybersecurity experience, develop technical skills, and build a strong foundation for a long-term career in information security within a fast-growing MSP.
Responsibilities:
-Support the Cybersecurity Analyst and Director of Technical Services in securing customer systems and networks
-Assist with the deployment, configuration, and monitoring of basic security tools (e.g., endpoint protection, email security, MFA, backups)
-Perform routine security tasks such as reviewing alerts, checking system updates, and verifying security settings under supervision
-Help document security processes, procedures, and findings
-Assist with basic security incident response activities, including escalation and remediation guidance
-Support user access management tasks in Microsoft 365 and Azure AD (password resets, MFA enrollment, permissions)
-Assist with monitoring client backup and disaster recovery solutions
-Provide Helpdesk support for end users as needed, including Windows, macOS, mobile devices, and cloud applications
-Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and connectivity issues remotely and occasionally on-site
-Accurately document issues and resolutions using the company ticketing system
-Maintain professional and positive communication with clients
Requirements:
-4-Year College Degree or equivalent experience in a similar position
-Microsoft 365 / Azure Management
-VMware experience a plus
-At least 1 Moderate Level certification desired (e.g. Microsoft, CompTIA)
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
-Positive and professional demeanor
-Must demonstrate the ability to effectively work independently
-Must have strong organizational, priority and time management skills with the ability to multitask
-Reliable personal vehicle with the ability to drive to clients as required
-Ability to participate in after hours on-call rotation
